BBC Fresh

I am now working on the BBC Learning project, BBC Fresh. This is a co-commission with BBC Three, which encourages new filmmakers to submit short documentaries to an online showcase. Through online activity, including social media, we aim to create a place for new documentary filmmakers to "watch, learn and share". This is a media literacy project with the twin aim of uncovering new filmmaking talent.

Free Speech

I spent most of 2013 working on the BBC Three series Free Speech, working with the team at BBC Learning to produce short VT's that were screened as part of the live TV debate show and online. My role involved casting contributors for films and participants for learning workshops. I delivered workshop content on the subject of TV production to groups of young adults with mixed abilities, from a range of hard-to-reach backgrounds. I also shot second camera for several short films using a Canon C300, including the one below.

BBC Learning

For the next few months I'm going to be working at BBC Learning as researcher for The Lab, working on the BBC Three series Free Speech. The project involves working alongside groups of young people to produce short films for the series at locations around the UK.

Availability, March 2013

I am now available for work as my contract at Inside Out North West ends this month.

UPDATE: 11 March. I'm now working for the next few weeks on the new series of BBC Two's Dragons' Den but have some availability for work longer term.

A film I produced/directed for Inside Out was broadcast on BBC One HD in February 2013 and can be seen below.

Back at the BBC

After a short break, some of which was spent at Nine Lives Media, I am now back at Inside Out North West until February 2013. Feel free to pitch ideas in the usual direction.
