I do journalism. Print, television, video.
I'm an award-winning print and video journalist with more than a decade of experience. I am also a Royal Television Society Awards-nominated documentary filmmaker. Alongside journalism, I create engaging video content and corporate documentary.
During the last year I've worked with the BBC, The Times, The Independent, Estates Gazette, Planning and North West Business Insider - among others - to create first-class print and video content. My portfolio spans a wide range of topics from Hazel Blears to Donald Trump via New York, Tokyo and Blackpool.
I produce, shoot and edit video projects from inception to completion. I'm currently working as a broadcast journalist for BBC Inside Out North West across a range of films alongside producers and presenters.
Background
I got my first job in journalism on weekly commercial property magazine Estates Gazette in 2000, largely on the basis of an interview with Countdown host Richard Whiteley I’d done for the student newspaper. I quit in summer 2009 to go freelance and to do an MA in documentary filmmaking at the University of Salford, which I completed in 2010.
My major project, a documentary called The Candidate, was nominated for a Royal Television Society award. Since then I've been working as a print and video journalist for a range of clients.
I have a wide range of interests including design, film, electronic music and football and I’ve written for my own blogs since 2006.
